Aims of the UK-CPN
The aims remain “to promote best practise in the pathological investigation of cardio-vascular disease and sudden cardiac death of probable cardiac origin in the United Kingdom and other countries”
Those involved include general pathologists, specialist cardiac pathologists, inherited cardiac disease clinical specialists, geneticists, coroners and coroner’s officers. It also goes without saying that familes and the public at large technically are central players.
The main or key stakeholder organisations include the Department of Health, the Royal College of Pathologists, the Coroner’s Society and various family support groups.
